Dress your Windows to Match your Walls
Don’t neglect those windows! With a little creativity you can pull off some pretty nifty dressing for those panes.
When decorating a room with a theme, consider alternatives to the traditional curtain rod, why not use:
- a baseball bat for the little leaguer
- a pool stick for the billiard/games fan
- an oar for the boating/nautical enthusiast
In lieu of curtains, drape various elements from whatever rod you choose. Why not
- hang a series of leis for a Hawaiian/tropical theme
- dangle strands of beads for a “Peace”ful 70’s décor
- wave a checkered flag for a racing room
- display an American flag for your Olympic hopeful and/or sports fan
- dangle cords of rope with the ends fringed for horse lovers or cowboys/cowgirls
TIP: Think of something that would be easy to move out of the way if it hangs the full length of the window.
You can turn everyday “props” into a feature piece for your home decor. Decorating by theme is easy…have fun with it!
